Discipleship Ministries at Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist
Church develops disciples through three
stages: deliverance, development and deployment.
The Process of Deliverance
moves a person from Seeker to Believer through baptism. This
four-step process starts with cultivating a caring
relationship, then communicating a compelling witness,
followed by clarifying spiritual questions, and finally,
calling for a commitment to Christ.
The Process of Development
helps a Believer grow as a disciple through training for
mission. This four-step process starts with initiating new
believers into an understanding of continuing Christian
discipleship, then integrating them into caring and mentoring
networks, followed by helping them discover their ministry
gifts in the body of Christ, and finally, inviting them into
disciple leadership classes.
The Process of Deployment
empowers a Disciple to make
other disciples by equipping them for leadership. This
four-step process starts with favoring their unique
evangelistic style, then following up with training and
mentorship in that style, followed by forming small groups
focused on a specific evangelistic style, and finally
deploying them to find Seekers for Christ.
